Take the holiday out of Valentine’s Day

Many are calling Valentine’s Day a “Hallmark holiday”. By saying that it defuses the true meaning and intent of the day. February 14 has a tradition in America as being the holiday for lovers.

What a great opportunity to stop making excuses to not go out and spread your love. Show your partner how much you really care about them and maybe make this a regular routine on every 14th day of each month! That’s a very small thing to do for the person that has all your emotions wrapped around their finger.

I was at a funeral recently and every time I attend a funeral there seems to be people there who now have to live with regret because they neglected to tell and show someone how much they really cared. What a horrible time to reach this realization.

To live life to the fullest, we have to live without regret. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. There are millions of way to die and it doesn’t matter how healthy you are right now. We drive on freeways with torpedoes coming at us everyday. Who’s to say that the driver of one of those torpedoes isn’t drinking? Who’s to say that weather conditions won’t claim more lives today?

Since the time we have left is not for us to know, the purpose is not for us to be so afraid of death that we do nothing. The purpose is for us to embrace life and those in our lives and squeeze them real hard. Tell them how you feel and then show them!

It is unnecessary for anyone to live with regret in this case. Share this blog instead of dropping hints. It should give you greater results.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. Great post! Yes people should spread their love for one another continuously, not just on February 14th.
